Instructions on Creating a WordPress Website

Are you looking to create a WordPress website? We have put together a step-by-step guide on how to create a WordPress website from start to finish.

Create the Database

1. Login to Cpanel
2. Create database
3. Create username & password
4. Enter credentials in sheet
5. Add user to database
6. Select all privileges

File Manager

1. Create subfolder in public_html
2. Upload wordpress zip
3. Extract wordpress zip
4. Move wordpress files out of wordpress folder into main subfolder
5. Delete empty wordpress folder and wordpress zip

Website Setup

1. Go to location of wordpress install + /wp-admin
2. Enter saved database credentials
3. Run wordpress installation
4. Choose wordpress credentials
5. Save wordpress credentials in sheet
6. Install wordpress

Install Theme

1. Go to appearance > themes
2. Add new theme
3. Install main theme
4. Install child theme (if available)
5. Activate child theme
6. Install theme plugins
7. Activate theme plugins
8. Import theme demo
9. Settings > reading > change to static page > choose home page
